Where there any cats on The Titanic?

Where there any cats on The Titanic?

With the 15th April 2012 commemorating the 100th anniversary of the sinking of The Titanic we wondered if there had been any cats on board. Cats were a common occurence on ships at that time and indeed throughout history as a way of keeping the rodent population under control. The Titanic's ship's cat was called Jenny and she had been brought to the Titanic from her sister ship The Olympic in Belfast. Jenny gave birth to a litter of kittens and for some reason decided that it was unsafe to stay on board. She was last seen leaving the ship with her kittens in tow just before The Titanic set sail and so she never made the trip acros the Atlantic. There are no further acounts of Jenny after that time. Sensible Cat!!!
